Naval Ceremonial

Sunset Ceremony

    This ceremony is stringently conducted every day, signifying the end of daylight for a Navy unit. It is carried out at the actual moment of sunset, during which the Navy Ensign and Jalur Gemilang will be lowered simultaneously in synchronization with the sound of the Bosun's Pipe or Bugler (if present). This ceremony generally involves the controlling activities by the manning of the flag called Prep and the reports by the Rating on Ensign Staff. The controlling unit is the Senior Officer Afloat or Senior Officer Present Afloat, ensuring the smooth orchestration of the whole evolution, which shall live to the mark of the rich naval traditions of the Royal Malaysian Navy. This ceremony may be augmented by the Ceremonial Sunset which may include the sounding of the Bugler over the ceremony.

Colour Ceremony
   
    Navy Ensign and Jalur Gemilang are the essential of this ceremony. Both will be hoisted in full synchronization with all the ships and stone frigates (thse are commisioned Navy shore-establishments) at sharp 0800 local time every day. For the Fleet, the ceremony is controlled by the Senior Officer Afloat or Senior Officer Present Afloat, staffed by the Colour Party manning the Bosun Call, Prep, the Jalur Gemilang and Navy Ensign.
